Woodgreen & DECA Pop-Up Shops

Woodgreen Community Services and Danforth East Community Association (DECA) partnered together to fill empty storefronts on Danforth East via the Pop-Up program. Entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to start their own brick and mortar business and the community—including shoppers!—became more engaged and involved at the same time.

After the success of the Pop-Up program, the Building Vibrant Main Streets and the Power of Local symposium was organized by Woodgreen and DECA, bringing together experts and community members to talk about ways in which neighborhoods and their businesses can work together to revitalize local economies and provide new opportunities for everyone involved.

The poster and brochure design needed to be eye-catching and energetic—there was a large amount of information to be shared in an engaging manner (without overwhelming the reader!) The event was well-attended and the promotional material reflected the high level of organization and excitement that went in to making it a success.
