This “Shop Local” holiday brochure cover was designed and illustrated for the Danforth East Community Association (DECA).
It was distributed to hundreds of homes in the DECA neighborhood and offered coupons and discounts for local businesses to members of the community.
This was just one of many initiatives by DECA that has increased foot traffic in the area and encouraged the success of local businesses. The brochure design and delivery closely followed a fall “Shop Local” event where business owners placed customizable posters—created with the same look and feel as the brochure—in their windows, and hand-wrote sales and other promotional events directly onto the poster. Danforth East Dreams was another event that used its poster design to carry on the branding of DECA’s promotional campaign.
An outdoor banner designed for the local weekly Farmer’s Market directs people to visit with DECA online in order to keep informed and contribute ideas and feedback:
“Heather approaches each project with a high level of professionalism and creativity. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Heather is to work with! Her Shop Local designs exceeded all expectations and have become part of DECA’s Pop-up Shop brand. She completes work within tight time constraints. She is always a pleasure to work with. Over the past 18 months, Heather has led the design of key promotional materials for five DECA projects. She has worked solo, and as part of a team, always full of enthusiasm, with a positive attitude and clear communications. Each project was completed on time and exceeded expectations. Thank you Heather!”
